Introduction

After a long forced break, the Think Tank North Sea will launch its new working group Environmentally sustainable blue growth on Monday 18 October. Interested in developing a future vision together with a diverse group of stakeholders? Participation is still possible!

Details

The Think Tank North Sea, the bottom-up driven think tank for our North Sea is ready to start a new vision building process. After a long forced break because of the Covid-19 pandemic, a first working group meeting will take place on Monday 18 October (13-16h) around the new theme Environmentally sustainable blue growth. This theme appeared to be the clear winner after a bottom-up driven selection process (see news item 1 June 2021).

The new working group will be led by the trio of Steven Degraer (RBINS, working group chairman), Marc Huygens (DEME, rapporteur) and Steve Bauwens (POM West-Vlaanderen, rapporteur).

If you are interested in joining this working group and helping to develop a vision on how sustainable economic development can look like in the future on our North Sea, you can still apply. You can send an e-mail to the chairman of the working group Steven Degraer or to Steven Dauwe (VLIZ, general support). Please note that the membership of a public or private organisation is generally limited to a maximum of 1 representative (and a substitute) per working group in order to achieve a balanced composition. In addition, an active contribution of individual citizens is encouraged.

Practical:

Location: VLIZ – Wandelaarkaai 7, 8400 Ostend, entry 61.

Time: 13-16u

Sandwich lunch is provided

Important: The contact moments of the working group are physical meetings where the current sanitary safety regulations are guaranteed by the organiser. Nevertheless, we would like to ask that you always have a personal mouth mask when participating.
